Fitness Center

The Park District Fitness Center offers state of the art fitness equipment. The Fitness Center is available during the hours that the Community Center is open and a membership entitles the member access to the gymnasium, when available. Monthly and yearly memberships are offered. Payment of membership fees is required before you are permitted to use the Fitness Center. Fitness members 13-17 years old MUST be under direct supervision of a legal guardian who is also a Fitness Member. Locker room/shower facilities are available.

The fitness center is open:
Monday – Friday                  6:00 am – 8:00 pm
Saturdays                            9:00 am – 1:00 pm

A variety of memberships to the Center are offered. Unless indicated, Fitness Center fees are on a yearly basis.

Military personnel on active duty leave may receive a complimentary pass during their stay.  Must show current military ID.

Open Gym:
Afternoons and Evenings, call ahead for Open Gym availability or check the calendar outside the gym.  Open to all ages, free to residents and non residents under 18; 18 and over is $2 (ID required)

Kickboxing/Self Defense
This class is a mixture of kickboxing and self defense techniques.  Students learn both proper technique and get a cardiovascular workout.  The self defense portion enables students to defend themselves in a variety of positions both standing and on the ground.  We welcome students of all levels over the age of 14 to try out a class and experience the benefits of this program.

Learn the basics of the traditional Japanese style of karate, known as Shorei Goju.  Students are taught flexibility exercises combined with the kicking, punching, and self-defense techniques of karate workouts.

Kali Natha Yoga
Yoga positively impacts every system of the body: immune, glandular, circulatory, digestive, reproductive, respiratory and nervous – and helps reduce the negative effects of stress.  This unique practice incorporates pranayama (breath work), mantra (sound), mudra (hand postures), asana (physical postures), and meditation into flow series to help bring the body, mind, and spirit into balance.  This yoga can be practiced by anyone, at any age and in any physical condition.  All levels welcome!
