Programs

Registration is accepted in person or by phone at (815) 458-6129 ext. 1.  Payments can be made in the form of cash, check or credit card.  There is a $20 service fee for all returned checks.  Phone registrations are accepted with credit card only.  

Please register by the deadline date to ensure classes, special events and trips meet the minimum number of participants.  All programs canceled by the Park District will result in a full refund.  Some special events and trips are non-refundable.
 
ALL-AGES

Karate
New Students are accepted in Session 1 ONLY!
Learn the basics of the traditional Japanese style of karate, known as Shorei Goju.  Students are taught flexibility exercises combined with the kicking, punching, and self-defense techniques of karate workouts.

Tuesdays & Thursdays   6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (beginners only until 7:00 pm)
Ages 5 years – Adult
Fee: $44 – One day per week per session

Family Bingo Nights
Join us for a night of family fun and tasty food.  Enjoy a tasty meal while you play for prizes (no cash prizes).  Fee includes, main course, dessert, drinks, and prizes.

The Original Secret Pantry is free for anyone in any community who may be in need.  Located at the Godley Park Barn, on the corner of Kankakee Street and Route 129.

Gong Meditation & Celebration

The gong is an ancient and sacred instrument used for healing, restoration and transformation throughout the world.  It produces a strong, almost tangible sound wave, which stimulates the physical body by influencing the surface of the skin and every cell.  

It is recommended to wear layers of loose, non-restrictive clothing, and to bring a mat to lie on, pillow, blanket, chair, water or anything else you may need to comfortably relax into the experience.

Breath & Bodywork with Mary Griffin

This class is designed to promote beneficial daily habits.  We will be utilizing techniques from Eastern and Western traditions to deepen the breath, move the body and experience a deeper state of relaxation.  Please bring an exercise/yoga mat to lay on as well as a firm blanket or two.

Yoga with Violet
Soften areas of tension and relax.  Lavender.  Lemongrass.  There is nothing to do here.  Beautiful breat combined with peaceful poetry in motion.  Relax your heart and soften your shoulders.  Breathe like the ocean ~ that you are.  Inhale to receive, exhale to let go.  There is no time in this place.  Here, all we do is expand space.  Feel the air touching your skin, and rest into an inner smile from within.  Love is all.  And we don’t even need it.  It is there – already.

May 15: Hatha Yoga
The simplest for of yoga.  Breathwork and soulful flow.  A combination of seated, standing, and lying postures.  Laughter is medicine and movement is healing.  Essential oils offered.

May 22: Yin Yoga
Holding, relaxing, seated postures for a longer duration ~ to let go and breate.  Minimal standing postures.  Deepest peace and deepest opening of fascia.  Massages offered.
~ I am open

May 29: Restorative Yoga
Slowing down completely.  Using multiple props such as blocks, blankets, and pillows.  All postures are either seated or lying.  Let’s get comforable and cozy.  Maybe even take a nap.
~ I am relaxed

Ballroom Dance Class – will return in the Spring!

Dancing is fun set to music!  Of all the dance rhythms, the one people ask for the most is swing.  Join this basic swing class.  No previous dance experience is necessary.  Wear comfortable clothes and hard soled shoes (leather if possible, but no rubber soled tennis shoes). This class will be held in our Community Center rec room.

Let’s build the basics!  Our youngest hoopers will spend the week learning the foundations of the game through fun, high-energy drills.
Focus Areas: ball handling, shooting form, footwork & coordination, confidence building games
Perfect for beginners and young athletes who want to grow their skills in a positive encouraging environment.  Let’s get them started the right way!
3 days:  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
9:30 am – 10:30 am
Fee: $40 per player

Grades 4-5 (Intermediate)
Skills, Fundamentals & Growth!
This group will take the next step in their development with a mix of drills and fundamentals that build strong, well-rounded players.
Focus Areas:  ball handling, shooting drills, core fundamentals (passing, spacing, footwork), game IQ building
Great for athletes ready to sharpen their skills and elevate their understanding of the game.
5 days:  Monday-Friday
11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Fee:  $55 per player

Grades 6-10 (Advanced)
Older athletes will dive into advanced concepts and competitive play designed to prepare them for real game solutions.
Focus Areas:  ball handling, shooting drills, situational offense & defense, scrimmages and live play
Perfect for players looking to compete, improve their basketball IQ and get ready for the next level.
5 days:  Monday-Friday
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Fee:  $65 per player

 

Youth Basketball – Registration will open in November.

Our annual Youth Basketball program takes place on Saturdays in January and February. 
This camp is designed to teach basic basketball fundamentals, such as dribbling and passing.  Students will put these practices to trial in friendly scrimmage games.  Open to boys and girls from all communities.
1st – 3rd grade     9:00 am – 10:00 am      $40
4th-5th grade      10:00 am – 11:30 am     $55
6th-8th grade      11:30am – 1:00 pm        $55
Register/Pay by January 3, 2026.
T-shirt size needed upon registration.

 
Game Room
Our game room is equipped with pool tables, foosball, air hockey, game tables, TVs and a variety of game systems.  The game room is open to all ages 6+.  An adult must accompany and supervise their children under the age of 6.


Open Gym

Our gymnasium is a great place to get out of the cold or the heat when you still want to be active and can’t be outside.  Call ahead for Open Gym availability or check the calendar on the board outside of the gym.

Free to Village of Godley residents and anyone 17 years old & under (high school students may be asked to show ID to verify age).
$2 per person for Non-Resident 18+ years old
